Endike Primary School needed a modern, more efficient school with state-of-the-art facilities to replace their old building. Working alongside local construction company, Sewell, we helped bring their school into the 21st century.

The new £6 million primary school was part of the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme. It now boasts fully equipped classrooms with ICT and interactive whiteboards; an amphitheatre; a slide that connects the first and second floor; and a rooftop play area with xylophones.

As well as designing and building their new classrooms and sourcing and fitting the latest technologies, we worked closely with the school to design the right chairs, desks and storage areas for its pupils and staff.

David Claughton, Director at Claughtons, said: “Getting the furniture and facilities right was one of the most important parts of the whole project.

“The school held a number of talks with their pupils about what furniture designs would work best for them. So we used this feedback to supply chairs and desks that suit the way the staff and pupils work, teach and learn.

“As well as making sure the furniture was the right fit for the school, there were also three different heights of chairs and desks to take into account. So it was definitely a challenge in that respect.”

Headteacher, Linda Burrows, comments: “Claughtons were excellent. They managed our project from start to finish, the furniture and fittings they came up with fitted perfectly, delivery was quick, and they did it all well within our tight budget and timescale. We’ll definitely be using them again in the future.”
